Facility Inspections
Although we did not rate this nursing home favorably overall, we want to point out its relatively favorable health inspections in recent years. We gave it a respectable grade of B+ in this category, which was much better than its overall grade. Our inspection grades are based on pieces of information located in the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Deficiencies are a key item to look for on these reports. Most importantly, you should avoid nursing homes that have severe deficiencies linked to risks to resident well being. This particular nursing home had just a single deficiency on its inspection report and it was not one deemed to pose a threat to patient health or safety. In spite of this deficiency, this place still received a relatively positive report.
Short-term Care Quality
This nursing home's second highest area was its short-term care grade, where it received a grade of B-. Short-term care grades are typically employed to measure a nursing home's rehabilitation services. In order to have high-end rehabilitation services, nursing homes generally need to feature higher levels of skilled nursing. These types of services include registered nurses, physical therapists, respiratory therapists and other highly skilled individuals. Unfortunately, this facility was below average in terms of its quantity of physical therapy and registered nurse hours provided to its patients based on the measures we assessed. The final metric we considered in this category is the number of patients that ultimately returned home from the nursing home. We found that just 5.4 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home. Unfortunately, this was below average.

Nurse Quality
Unfortunately, this facility only received a grade of D for its nursing grade, which was actually one of its better category grades. There are many datapoints within this grade. Most of these criteria relate to levels of nurse staffing. This nursing home provided a meager 0.4 hours of nursing care per patient per day. This is an alarmingly low total. Lastly, we also looked at some nursing quality-based metrics in determining our nursing grades. This facility performed well in the area of minimizing its residents' major falls and pressure ulcers. Many consider these datapoints to be measures of the quality of nursing care.
Long-term Care Quality
The next category we assessed is long-term care. Sadly, it received a lowly F in this area, which is a very poor grade. Long-term care grades in this range generally are a bad sign for the quantity and quality of care provided by nurses and aids. In addition to assessing the volume of care provided by nurses and other staff, we also looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. We discovered that this nursing home administered the vaccine to only 65.49708 percent of its patients, which is quite a bit lower than we expected. Surprisingly, this facility was actually able to limit hospitalizations. With just 0.01 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, this nursing home has fewer hospitalizations than the majority of nursing homes. This is its best score in this category.
