Long-term Care Quality

Grade: A

In addition to receiving a great overall grade, this nursing home excelled in our shot-term care category. In fact, we awarded it a grade of A for that category. Long-term care ratings in this range generally require both around the clock care from nurses and aids, as well as quality routine medical care. Even though we determined this nursing home had an impressive amount of nursing hours provided by aids and other nursing staff, we found its vaccine statistics to be somewhat low. This nursing home administered the pneumonia vaccine to just 82.051285 percent of its patients. This is one figure we would like to see this facility bring up. The last datapoint we assessed was the facility's hospitalization rate. Here we found that this facility had 2.53 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days.

Nurse Quality

Grade: A

This nursing home also received a very impressive nursing grade. In fact, this turned out to be its second best category grade. In that area, we awarded this facility a grade of A. Nursing grades are largely tied to a facility's level of nurse staffing. This nursing home provides an extremely impressive 6.4 hours of nursing care per resident daily. This is among the better totals in the country. Finally, this nursing home also performed well in several of the quality-based metrics we assessed. In terms of the number of its patients sustaining falls which lead to major injury, this nursing home performed better than the national average.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: A-minus

This facility also was awarded a top-shelf short-term care score. In fact, this turned out to be this nursing home's third most impressive category score. In that category, we gave this facility a score of A-. In computing our short-term care ratings, we size up the nursing home's levels of highly skilled nursing, which includes registered nurses, physical therapists speech therapists and other licensed professionals. This score is typically a useful measure of a facility's rehabilitation. This nursing home provides a decent amount of services from physical therapists and registered nurses based on our assessment. The last datapoint we assessed in this category is the number of patients who who were able to eventually return home from the nursing home. We found that 0 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home as opposed to remaining at the facility on a permanent basis.

Facility Inspections

Grade: B-plus

In addition, this facility also received top notch inspections in recent years. We awarded them one of our better scores in that category, with a grade of B+. Perhaps the most significant factor we consider in determining our inspection scores is deficiencies. These deficiencies are found on a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Facilities with higher grades in this category typically avoided the most severe deficiencies involving things like patient abuse. While this facility had some deficiencies on its inspection report, none were major deficiencies based on CMS' deficiency scale. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.
