Facility Inspections

Grade: A

In addition to being a respectable nursing home overall, this place also excelled in the area of inspections, where it earned an A. Few nursing homes performed better in this area. Our inspection scores are tied to many pieces of information found on the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Nursing homes that excel in this area typically have few deficiencies on their reports. Most importantly, these places generally do not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with risks to patient safety. This particular nursing home received 6 deficiencies on its inspection report. Overall, this is still a solid inspection report, but we'd always recommend looking into any deficiencies you find troubling.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: B

Additionally, we also would like to draw your attention to the fact that this nursing home received positive long-term care marks in this assessment. We gave them one of our more impressive grades in that category, with a B. This proved to be the nursing home's second strongest score. Nursing homes that receive this kind of score in long-term care typically provide consistent around the clock care to make sure residents are well cared for. One of the factors we considered after nurse's aid hours is vaccinations. This facility provided the pneumonia vaccine to 90.54054 percent of its residents. Clearly, this place is doing something right in this area as it was able to keep its patients out of the hospital. In fact, it had only 0.03 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.

Nurse Quality

Grade: C

We also gave this nursing home a decent score in the category of nursing care, with a grade of C. Our nursing rating focuses on the facility's level of nurse staffing. We consider both the levels of training of those nurses and the number of hours spent with patients. This nursing home averages just 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a very low figure. Lastly, although this nursing home got docked a bit for its nursing hours per resident, it excelled in some of our quality-based metrics. With fewer than five percent of its patients experiencing pressure ulcers, it fared very well in this subcategory.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: F

The last area we rated was short-term care, which was this nursing home's least impressive area. Unfortunately, we gave it an abysmal F in this area, which is certainly a major disappointment. Our short-term care scores are arguably more meaningful for patients needing rehabilitation services. Rehabilitation generally utilizes additional highly-skilled nursing. This includes not merely nursing services, but also physical and respiratory therapy, as well as other types of therapy. Not surprisingly, we found that this nursing home provides far less physical therapist and registered nurse hours per resident than the average facility. Lastly, we looked at the percentage of residents that returned home from this facility. This facility didn't fare well here either. In fact, we found that just 3.5 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home. This figure was quite a bit off the national average.
