Facility Inspections

Grade: A

While we were not high on this nursing home overall, we awarded it an A for our inspections rating. This score is far more impressive than the facility's overall score. Inspection grades weigh a host of factors found on a nursing home's inspection report. One key criteria we rely on is the number and severity of deficiencies. You generally want to avoid facilities with a bunch of severe deficiencies flagged. Unfortunately, it does not appear that we have deficiency counts for this nursing home. Without having complete deficiency related data for this nursing home, it is difficult to grade it in the inspections category.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: C

This facility's long-term care grade is one of its higher features. The facility was given a grade of C in this area. In computing our long-term care grades, we analyze the assistance with daily living offered to a nursing home's patients. Once we assessed the quantity of care provided by nurses and other staff, we then analyzed the nursing home's vaccination record. We were pleased to learn that this nursing home vaccinated 96.682465 percent of its patients for pneumonia. This nursing home was able to keep its patients out of the hospital. It had only 0 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: F

Additionally, we gave this facility an F in the area of short-term care. With our short-term care rating, we attempt to forge a valuable barometer for rehabilitation. In doing so, we assess a facility's level of highly-skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as occupational therapy. With a score this poor for this category, we weren't shocked to learn this nursing home was well below average in multiple staffing areas we focus on. It offered significantly fewer registered nurse and physical therapist hours per resident than most other facilities. The last item we considered in this category is the percentage of residents who were able to leave the facility and return to the community. We discovered that just 4.4 percent of this facility's patients were able to return home, which is well below average. The combination of these subpar statistics was damning for this facility's short-term care grade.

Nurse Quality

Grade: F

Turning to the final category, this nursing home did not perform very well in this category either. Due to a rock bottom grade of F in nursing, this is about as as uninspiring as it gets. Nursing ratings are mostly associated with a facility's level of nurse staffing. This place provided a meager 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident each day. This is not a very impressive figure. On top of receiving below average marks for nursing hours, this place was a bit less impressive in some of the quality-based measures we looked at in determining our nursing ratings. We looked at the percent of residents sustaining pressure ulcers and found that this nursing home was at roughly 1.5 times the national average in this statistic.
