Facility Inspections
Although we did not rate this facility highly overall, we want to draw your attention to its nearly flawless health inspections in recent years. We awarded them an impressive grade of A in this category. Inspection scores weigh several factors found on a nursing home's inspection report. One key criteria we look at is the number and severity of deficiencies. You should avoid facilities with a list of severe deficiencies flagged. This particular nursing home received 4 deficiencies on its inspection report. Overall, this is still a solid inspection report, but we'd always recommend looking into any deficiencies you find troubling.
Long-term Care Quality
As it turns out, this nursing home only received a D for its long-term care rating, which is actually one of its more favorable category grades. Nursing homes that receive this kind of score in long-term care likely don't provide the kind of consistent 24/7 care that some other nursing homes offer. On top of assessing the amount of care provided by nurses and other staff, we looked at the number of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. Frankly, we were a bit alarmed this nursing home provided the vaccine to just 80.21739 percent of its patients. To our surprise, this facility actually fared well at keeping its patients out of the hospital. It had just 0.01 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days. This is its best score in this category.

Nurse Quality
We also wanted to draw your attention to this facility's poor nursing grade where it received an F. Our nursing grade is based on the nursing home's level of nurse staffing. We consider both the levels of licensure of the nurses and the amount of time spent with residents. This place provided just 0.3 hours of nursing care per patient on a daily basis. This figure is far below the national average. Lastly, we also assessed some nursing quality-based metrics in calculating our nursing ratings. This nursing home fared well in terms of minimizing its residents' pressure ulcers and major falls.
Short-term Care Quality
Turning to the last area, this facility did not fare very well in this area either. With a bottom of the barrel grade of F in short-term care, this is really as bad as it gets. Short-term care grades are typically used to assess a facility's performance with rehabilitation. In order to offer good rehabilitation services, nursing homes generally must have higher levels of skilled nursing. These types of services include registered nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists and other types of therapists. Considering its score in this area, we weren't stunned to discover that this place was well below average in terms of its number of registered nurse and physical therapy hours offered to its patients based on the metrics we assessed. Lastly, we considered the percentage of residents who were able to return to the community from this nursing home. This definitely was not a strength for this nursing home. We found that just 4 percent of this facility's residents returned home. At most nursing homes, about half of their residents are able to return home so this is well below average.
