Facility Inspections
On top of performing well overall, this facility also received nearly flawless government inspections. Consequently, it earned one of our highest grades in that area with an A+. Inspection ratings are tied to pieces of information located in the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Nursing homes that excel in this category have few deficiencies on their reports. Most importantly, these nursing homes should not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with risks to patient safety. Fortunately, although this place had some minor dings on its report, it had no severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are labeled as categories G, H, I, J, K and L. This means that the inspectors didn't deem any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient health or safety. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.
Short-term Care Quality
This first-rate nursing home also performed well in the area of short-term care, where we awarded it a grade of A+. Only a small group of nursing homes performed better in this category. Short-term care ratings are meaningful for prospective residents in need of rehabilitation. Rehabilitation typically utilizes higher levels of skilled nursing. This means a vast spectrum of nursing services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and speech therapists, as well as other variations of therapy. Fortunately, it looks like this facility employs registered nurses. Not every facility employs these types of nurses. However, based on the data they provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. The final metric we assessed in this area is the percentage of patients that who were able to eventually return home from the facility. We found that 6 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home as opposed to remaining at the nursing home on a permanent basis.

Nurse Quality
To complement its strong performance in other areas, we awarded this nursing home a grade of A+ for our inspections rating. Our nursing grade looks at the nursing home's nurse staffing levels. We consider both the levels of skill of the nurses and the quantity of hours spent with patients. This particular nursing home provided 0.5 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also assessed some nursing quality-based metrics in determining our nursing grades. This facility performed very well when it comes to avoiding pressure ulcers and major falls. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.
Long-term Care Quality
Moving on to our last area, this facility was given a strong long-term care rating. In fact, we awarded it an A- in that category, rounding out a straight A profile. Nursing homes that receive this type of grade in long-term care tend to provide consistent 24/7 care to ensure residents are well cared for. In addition to looking at the amount of care provided by nurses and other staff, we analyzed the number of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. This facility provided the vaccine to 98.69281 percent of its patients, which is an impressive figure. Pneumonia sadly is often a dangerous condition for nursing home residents so we strongly prefer when a facility does not roll the dice on this issue. Lastly, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. Indeed, it had only 0 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.
