To go along with a favorable overall grade, we gave this facility an A+ for our inspections rating. Inspection scores take several factors into consideration, including deficiencies and federal fines. You can learn more about each of these issues by obtaining copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. Unfortunately, it does not look like we have deficiency data for this nursing home. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

One of the other reasons we graded this nursing home so highly is that it earned a very impressive nursing rating. Nursing proved to be its second best category grade. In that category, we gave this facility a grade of A+. Our nursing score consists of quite a few subcategories, however, the primary one is the level of nurse hours per patient per week. This facility provided 0.6 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Lastly, we also assessed some nursing quality-based metrics in determining our nursing grades. This facility performed very well in terms of minimizing its residents' major falls and pressure ulcers. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.

This facility also was elite in the category of short-term care, where we gave it a grade of A. Few nursing homes fared better in this category. In the category of short-term care, we attempt to evaluate indicators of a nursing home's rehabilitation. We look at the nursing home's skilled nursing services, including those performed by registered nurses and physical therapists. We were pleased to find that this nursing home employs both registered nurses and physical therapists. The same can't be said for all nursing homes. The last item we looked at in this category is the percentage of patients who were able to leave the nursing home and return home. We discovered that 0 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home.

Turning to our last category, this nursing home received an extremely favorable long-term care rating. We gave it an A in this category, rounding out a straight A profile. For prospective patients in need of a permanent place to live as opposed to skilled nursing, long-term care is an important category. After considering the amount of care provided by aids and other staff, we then analyzed the nursing home's vaccination statistics. Unfortunately, it does not look like this nursing home submitted data regarding vaccinations. Clearly, this facility is doing something right in this area as it was able to keep its patients out of the hospital. In fact, it had less than one hospitalization per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low number.
