Facility Inspections

Grade: A-plus

We also wanted to emphasize that this facility earned near flawless government inspections recently. We awarded them an impressive grade of A+ in this area. Inspection ratings weigh several factors found on a nursing home's inspection report. One of the most important criteria we consider is the quantity and severity of deficiencies. Facilities with better grades in this category generally have few of these severe deficiencies. Unfortunately, we weren't able to find deficiency counts for this nursing home. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: A-minus

Adding to this nursing home's list of achievements, it also was given a fine long-term care score. We gave them an impressive strong of A- in this category. In a long-term care environment, the nursing home's primary goal is to maintain patients' quality of life and keep them safe. On top of considering the volume of care provided by aids and other staff, we analyzed the number of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. This nursing home provided the vaccine to 85.71429 percent of its residents, which is slightly lower than we anticipated. While its vaccination rate was a bit lower than we had hoped, this nursing home was able to limit hospitalizations. It had only 0 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: B-plus

This facility also was awarded a strong short-term care score. Indeed, we awarded it an above average score of B+ in this area. In our short-term care score, we strive to craft a meaningful barometer for rehabilitation services. In doing so, we analyze a nursing home's offerings of highly-skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as respiratory therapy. Fortunately, it appear that this facility has registered nurses on staff. Not every nursing home employs these skilled professionals. However, according to the data this nursing home provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. Finally, we looked at the percentage of residents who were able to return to the community from this facility. We found that 0 percent of this facility's patients returned home.

Nurse Quality

Grade: B-minus

The next area we scored is nursing. In this area, we gave this nursing home an acceptable grade of B-. This actually proved to be this nursing home's worst category. Our nursing score features a host of subcategories. The most heavily weighted variable is the quantity of hours nurses spend with patients. This place provides 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident each day. This is a lower figure than we are used to seeing. Lastly, our nursing grades also consider some quality-focused measures. We especially like to look at the percentage of patients who sustained pressure ulcers and major falls. Sometimes these data points are decent measures of the quality of nursing care, since superior care can reduce these issues.
