Registered Staff Hours
Nurse Quality
To go along with its strong overall grade, we awarded this nursing home a grade of A+ for its nursing grade. We scrutinized the levels of nurses employed by the nursing home, as well as the quantity of hours those nurses were with patients, in computing our rating in this area. This nursing home provides 0.5 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Lastly, we also assessed some nursing quality-based metrics in determining our nursing grades. This place performed very well in terms of avoiding pressure ulcers and major falls. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.
Short-term Care Quality
We also wanted to emphasize the fact that this facility performed remarkably in our short-term care rating. We gave them an elite score of A+ in this category. Short-term care grades are meaningful for residents needing rehabilitation. Rehabilitation generally requires additional highly-skilled nursing services. This includes a broad range of services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and speech therapists, as well as other types of therapy. Fortunately, it looks like this nursing home employs registered nurses. Not every facility employs these types of nurses. On the other hand, according to the data they provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. The final measure we assessed in this area is the number of patients who were able to leave the nursing home and return to the community. We found that 6.6 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home.

Facility Inspections
This facility also received a nearly flawless inspection report. As a result, it earned one of our highest grades in that category with an A. We take several aspects of a facility's inspection report into consideration in computing our inspection ratings. One of those factors is health deficiencies. You should keep in mind that the severity of the deficiencies is arguably more meaningful than the quantity of deficiencies, as some are quite minor. This facility was assessed 2 deficiencies on its inspection report, but we were relieved to see that none of the deficiencies were considered severe. This tells you that the government inspectors didn't consider any of these deficiencies to create an imminent threat to patient health or safety. The fact that the deficiencies were relatively minor leaves us less concerned with this inspection report.
Long-term Care Quality
In our final category, this facility also was awarded an excellent long-term care rating, with a grade of A-. This wrapped up a very impressive report card. Long-term care grades in this range generally require both 24/7 care from nurses and aids, as well as quality routine medical care. On top of assessing the amount of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This nursing home vaccinated 100 percent of its patients. Vaccines are critical to keeping residents healthy. Finally, this nursing home was able to limit hospitalizations. It had only 0.01 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.
