Although we gave this nursing home an abysmal overall score, we awarded it a C for our nursing category. When calculating a nursing home's nursing rating, we look at the number of hours nurses spend with patients and the level of licensure of the nurses. This facility provides only 0.3 hours of nursing care per patient per day. This is a somewhat discouraging figure as it is well below the national average. Lastly, although this nursing home got docked a bit for nursing hours per resident, it excelled in a few of our quality metrics. With less than five percent of its residents sustaining pressure ulcers, it did remarkably well in this subcategory.

This nursing home didn't perform horribly in the area of inspections. We gave it a C for that category. Other categories were the source of its rock bottom overall score. We take several aspects of a facility's inspection report into consideration in computing these inspection ratings. One of those factors is deficiencies. It should be noted that the severity of these deficiencies is arguably more important than the quantity of deficiencies, as some deficiencies end up being relatively minor. Lastly, we assessed the percentage of patients who eventually returned home from this nursing home. This nursing home didn't fare well here either. In fact, we found that just 0 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home.

The next category we rated was long-term care, which is a weak spot for this nursing home. We gave this facility a grade of just D in our long-term care category. If you are looking for anything other than short-term rehabilitation, you should take a close look at each nursing home's long-term care ratings. After assessing the volume of care provided by nurses and other staff, we next considered the nursing home's vaccination record. This facility vaccinated 98.373985 percent of its residents for pneumonia, which is more than the majority of nursing homes. To our surprise, this facility also fared well at keeping its patients out of the hospital. Indeed, it had only 0 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days. Unfortunately, some of its other scores in this category weren't as favorable as these.
