Facility Inspections
Although we gave this place a terrible overall score, we awarded it a grade of B for our inspections rating. This is the result of the nursing home receiving a quality inspection report this year. Perhaps the most critical factor we consider in determining our inspection grades is deficiencies. Deficiencies are found on a facility's inspection reports. It is generally in your best interest to avoid nursing homes that have a long list of severe deficiencies. While this place had a few deficiencies on its report, none of them were serious based on CMS' scale. A couple minor deficiencies aren't necessarily the end of the world.
Nurse Quality
One of the other reasons we graded this facility so highly is that it received a very impressive nursing rating. In fact, nursing turned out to be its second best category grade. In that category, we gave this nursing home an F. There are a number of criteria included in this area. Most of these factors reflect the quantity of nurse staffing. This facility averaged a meager 0.4 hours of nursing care per patient daily. This is not a very impressive figure. Lastly, we also looked at some nursing quality-based metrics in computing our nursing ratings. This facility performed well in the area of avoiding pressure ulcers and major falls. We consider these areas to be indicators of the quality of nursing care.

Short-term Care Quality
In addition, we gave this facility a rock-bottom F in the category of short-term care. In the category of short-term care, we seek to qualify indicators of a nursing home's rehabilitation services. We assess a nursing home's skilled nursing services, such as the ones performed by registered nurses and physical therapists. As you might expect, we learned that this place provides significantly less physical therapist and registered nurse hours per patient than the typical nursing home. The final measure we considered in this area is the number of patients who were able to return home from the nursing home. This facility struggled quite a bit in this area as well, with just 0 percent of its patients returning home.
Long-term Care Quality
Moving on to our last category, this nursing home really did not perform well in this category either. Due to a poor grade of F in long-term care, this is really as as uninspiring as it gets. Facilities that receive this type of score in this category likely don't provide the type of consistent 24/7 care that some other facilities offer. After assessing the volume of care provided by nurses and other staff, we turned to the nursing home's vaccination record. Frankly, we were a bit alarmed this facility vaccinated 77.40585 percent of its residents against pneumonia, which is significantly lower than average. Surprisingly, this facility was actually able to limit hospitalizations. With just 0.02 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, this nursing home has less hospitalizations than the average nursing home. This is its best score in this category.
