Facility Inspections
While we graded this place incredibly poorly overall, it actually earned a fairly impressive government inspection report this year. As a result, it received one of our more favorable scores in that area with a grade of B+. We weigh several aspects of a nursing home's inspection report in computing our inspection scores. One key factor is deficiencies. It should be noted that the severity of the deficiencies is usually more meaningful than the number of deficiencies, as some deficiencies end up being relatively minor. Fortunately, although this nursing home had a few minor dings on its report, it had zero severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are those found in categories G, H, I, J, K and L. This tells you the government inspectors did not consider any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient health or safety. A couple minor deficiencies aren't necessarily the end of the world.
Long-term Care Quality
This facility's second most respectable category is long-term care, but even there it received just a D in that area. This is still a well below average grade. Long-term care ratings in this range generally are a bad sign for the quantity and quality of care provided by nurses and aids. After looking at the amount of care provided by nurses and other staff, we then analyzed the facility's vaccination records. Unfortunately, this facility vaccinated just 48.22695 percent of its residents for pneumonia. To our surprise, this nursing home was actually able to limit hospitalizations. With only 0.1 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, this facility has fewer hospitalizations than the average nursing home. This is its best feature in this category.

Nurse Quality
We gave this facility a grade of just D for our nursing rating. Our nursing grade focuses on the facility's level of nurse staffing. We consider both the levels of training of those nurses as well as the amount of time spent with patients. This nursing home offered a meager 0.7 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is well below average. Lastly, we also looked at some nursing quality measures in determining our nursing grades. This place fared well in the area of avoiding major falls and pressure ulcers. We consider these datapoints to be indicators of the quality of nursing care.
Short-term Care Quality
The final area we assessed is short-term care. This facility was given a bottom of the barrel grade of F in that area. In the category of short-term care, we attempt to qualify measures of a nursing home's rehabilitation services. We look at a facility's skilled nursing services, including those performed by registered nurses and physical therapists. Based on its abysmal rating in this area, we weren't shocked to learn this nursing home offered far fewer registered nurse and physical therapist hours per patient than most other nursing homes. Lastly, we looked at the percentage of residents who were able to return to the community from this nursing home. We found that just 4 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home.
