Facility Inspections

Grade: B-plus

On top of having a decent overall rating, we also would like to point out that this place earned favorable government inspections in recent years. We gave them one of our better scores in this category, with a B+. This is a much better grade than the nursing home's overall grade. Our inspection grades are based on several datapoints located in the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Nursing homes that excel in this area typically have very few deficiencies on their reports. Most importantly, these nursing homes should not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with risks to patient safety. This nursing home was hit with 2 deficiencies on its inspection report, but fortunately none of the deficiencies were considered to be major deficiencies. This indicates that the inspectors did not consider any of these deficiencies to create an imminent threat to patient health or safety. A couple minor dings aren't necessarily something to panic about.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: B-plus

In addition, we awarded this facility a grade of B+ in our long-term care category. This is one of our more impressive scores. Nursing homes that receive this type of grade in this category tend to provide consistent 24/7 care to make sure patients are well cared for. After considering the amount of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we turned to the nursing home's vaccination data. This facility vaccinated 100 percent of its patients for pneumonia. Vaccines are critical to keeping residents out of the hospital. Clearly, this place is doing something right in this area as it also excelled at keeping its patients out of the hospital. It had only 0.02 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.

Nurse Quality

Grade: B-minus

We also gave this nursing home a decent score in the category of nursing care, with a grade of B-. Our nursing rating includes several components, most of which are based on levels of nurse staffing. This facility provided just 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a relatively low total compared to most other facilities. Finally, nursing grades also factor in quality-based assessments, such as preventing major falls. Despite not having the most impressive total nursing hours, this place actually performed admirably in the area of preventing major falls. This is typically an indicator that a facility has sufficient quality controls in place. Many falls could be avoided if a nursing home provides enough nurses aids to assist its residents.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: C

Our last category is short-term care, where we awarded this facility a C in this category. Short-term care scores are based on the nursing home's quantity of highly-skilled highly skilled professionals. This includes a wide spectrum of nursing services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and respiratory therapists, not to mention other forms of therapy. We were not able to locate registered nurse or physical therapy staffing data for this place. The final statistic we looked at in this category is the percentage of residents that were able to return home from the facility. We found that just 5.3 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home. This figure was below the national average.
