To pair with its strong overall grade, we awarded this nursing home a grade of A+ for its nursing grade. For prospective residents seeking a permanent residence as opposed to skilled nursing, long-term care grades are a key measure. One of the factors we considered on top of nursing hours was vaccinations. This nursing home provided the pneumonia vaccination to 88.495575 percent of its residents. Clearly, this nursing home is doing something right in this area as it also excelled at keeping its patients out of the hospital. Turning to inspections, this facility excelled in that area, which is based on the facility's inspection reports. We awarded it a grade of A for that category. Arguably the most significant factor we consider in calculating our inspection ratings is deficiencies. These deficiencies are found on a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Facilities with higher scores in this area most likely dodged the more severe deficiencies involving patient abuse or death. Our nursing grade consists of a handful of datapoints, however, the main one is the number of nurse hours per patient per week. This nursing home averages 0.5 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, our nursing grades also factor in quality-based assessments, such as avoiding major falls. This nursing home performed well in this area. Avoiding major falls is typically a good indicator that a facility has reliable quality controls in place. Major falls can many times be prevented if more nurses aids and better safety protocols are in place.

In the last area, we gave this nursing home a grade of A for its short-term care score. This completed a first-rate profile. In calculating our short-term care scores, we assess the nursing home's skilled nursing services, including those performed by registered nurses, speech therapists, physical therapists and other types of skilled professionals. The goal is to formulate a scale for comparing the rehabilitation services of various nursing homes. Fortunately, it appear that this facility has registered nurses on staff. Not all nursing homes employs these types of nurses. However, based on the information this nursing home provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. The last item we looked at in this category is the percentage of patients that who were able to eventually return home from the nursing home. We found that 5.4 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home as opposed to remaining at the facility on a permanent basis.
