Nurse Quality
We also would like to point out that this nursing home excelled in our nursing category. We awarded them an impressive grade of A+ in this category. When determining our nursing ratings, we analyze both nursing hours and the skill levels of the nurses. This facility provided 4.8 hours of nursing care per resident on a daily basis, which is among the highest totals in the country. A significant portion of those hours were provided by registered nurses, which are one of the most highly skilled levels of nurses. We are very impressed by both of these figures. On top of providing impressive levels of care, this nursing home was also above average in several of the major quality-based metrics we looked at in this category. It performed well in terms of minimizing its residents' pressure ulcers and major falls.
Short-term Care Quality
Contributing to its top-shelf profile, this facility also received a dominant short-term care grade, with a score of A. With our short-term care score, we attempt to craft a sound barometer for rehabilitation. In doing so, we analyze a nursing home's offerings of highly-skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as occupational therapy. This place provides more services with registered nurses and physical therapists than most nursing homes we looked at. This is certainly a very favorable sign. The last datapoint we assessed in this category is the number of patients that returned home from the nursing home. We found that it fared better than most facilities in this area with 53.4 percent of its patients returning home.
Facility Inspections
Another impressive feature of this facility is its inspection grade. In that area, we awarded this facility a grade of A. Perhaps the most significant factor we consider in determining our inspection scores is deficiencies. Deficiencies can be found on a facility's recent inspection reports. Facilities with higher scores in this area most likely avoided the more severe deficiencies involving things like patient abuse. Amazingly, this was one of the few nursing homes in the country that had no deficiencies whatsoever on its inspection report. This is very impressive. You really can not do much better than a deficiency-free inspection report.
Long-term Care Quality
The final category we rated is long-term care. In this area, we awarded this nursing home an impressive grade of B. Long-term care ratings in this range generally require both around the clock care from nurses and aids, as well as quality routine healthcare services. On top of really impressive nursing hour statistics, this facility's vaccination record is first-rate as well. In fact, it vaccinated 98.879555 percent of its patients for pneumonia. This combination proved to be successful as this place also excelled at keeping its residents out of the hospital. In fact, it had only 1.38 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days.
