Long-term Care Quality

Grade: A

This place excelled in the area of long-term care, where it earned an A. Facilities that receive this kind of grade in this category tend to provide consistent 24/7 care to make sure patients are kept in good health. On top of considering the volume of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we analyzed the number of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. This facility gave the vaccine to 98.89503 percent of its residents, which is very impressive. Pneumonia tragically can be a deadly illness for nursing home patients so we like it when a nursing home does not leave its residents vulnerable. Finally, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. Indeed, it had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: B

This facility also received a positive short-term care grade. Indeed, we awarded them a grade of B in this category, which happens to be one of our better. With our short-term care category, we try to forge a valuable gauge for rehabilitation services. In this process, we look at the nursing home's level of skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as respiratory therapy. It doesn't appear that this nursing home provided information on registered nurse or physical therapist staffing. The final datapoint we considered in this area is the percentage of patients who ultimately were able to return home from the nursing home. We found that 0 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home as opposed to remaining at the facility on a permanent basis.

Nurse Quality

Grade: B-minus

This facility's next best category grade came in the area of nursing. In that category, we gave this nursing home a grade of B-. Nursing ratings are mostly associated with a nursing home's nurse staffing. This nursing home provided just 0 hours of nursing care per patient on a daily basis. This is a relatively low total compared to most other facilities. Finally, we also looked at several nursing quality-based metrics. Although this place got dinged a bit for nursing hours, it actually excelled in a few of these quality-based measures. With fewer than five percent of its residents experiencing pressure ulcers, it performed well in this subcategory. This can be an indicator of quality nursing care. Pressure ulcers can typically be prevented by offering better nursing care, such as by employing a protocol of moving residents more often.

Facility Inspections

Grade: C

Turning our final category, inspections proved to be this nursing home's weakest link. It received a grade of C in this category. Inspection ratings relate to a nursing home's inspection reports. Our inspection grades are based on several pieces of information found on the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Deficiencies are an important thing to look for on these reports. Severe deficiencies indicate a risk to resident safety. This place was assessed 4 deficiencies on its inspection report, but we were relieved to find that none were in categories G through L. This means it dodged the more ominous categories of deficiencies. Unfortunately, we also need to draw your attention to the fact that this facility received significant government fines in recent years.
