Facility Inspections
Although we did not rate this facility favorably overall, we want to draw your attention to its excellent inspections in recent years. We awarded them an A in this category. Arguably the most critical factor we look at in determining our inspection scores is deficiencies. These deficiencies are found on a facility's inspection reports. It is typically best to avoid nursing homes that had too many severe deficiencies. This facility was assessed 5 deficiencies on its inspection report, but fortunately none of the deficiencies were considered to be major deficiencies. This indicates that the government inspectors didn't deem any of these deficiencies to pose an immediate threat to resident health or safety. A few minor deficiencies are not the end of the world.
Short-term Care Quality
The next most favorable area we awarded this nursing home in any category came in the area of short-term care, where we gave it a B-. In the category of short-term care, we endeavor to qualify indicators of a nursing home's rehabilitation. We look at the nursing home's skilled nursing services, such as those performed by registered nurses and various therapists. Unfortunately, we found that this place provided fewer registered nurse and physical therapist hours per resident than most other nursing homes. The final datapoint we considered in this area is the number of residents who were able to leave the facility and return to the community. We discovered that just 6.4 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home, which is actually below average.

Nurse Quality
We also wanted to point out that this nursing home received an F for its nursing grade. Our nursing grade features many factors. The most important factor is the number of hours nurses spend with patients. This particular place provided a meager 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident each day. This figure is well below average. Finally, we also assessed some nursing quality-based metrics in determining our nursing ratings. This facility performed well when it comes to avoiding major falls and pressure ulcers. Many consider these areas to be measures of the quality of nursing care.
Long-term Care Quality
The final area we scored was long-term care. It received an abysmal F in this area, which is a very poor grade. Nursing homes that do not fare well in long-term care typically are not as well-staffed and are lagging in a few of the areas of routine healthcare services we assessed. In addition to assessing the volume of care provided by nurses and other staff, we analyzed the percentage of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. We found that this facility gave the vaccine to a relatively low 86.83853 percent of its patients, which is somewhat concerning. To our surprise, this facility actually fared well at keeping its residents out of the hospital. Indeed, it had only 0.01 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days. This is its best feature in this category.
