On top of being a quality facility overall, this facility especially excelled in the area of inspections, where it earned an A-. Few facilities fared better in that category. Inspection ratings weigh several factors found on a facility's inspection reports. One key criteria we look at is the quantity and severity of deficiencies. Nursing homes with better scores in this area generally have very few severe deficiencies. Unfortunately, we were not able to find information about this nursing home's deficiencies. We would like to have more data for this facility. Without all of the deficiency related data, it was difficult to evaluate it in this category.

Another one of this nursing home's impressive category scores came in the category of long-term care. We gave them one of our stronger grades in that area, with a score of B+. Nursing homes that receive this type of score in long-term care typically provide consistent around the clock care to make sure patients are well cared for. Once we assessed the quantity of care provided by nurses, we then analyzed the facility's vaccination record. This facility vaccinated 99.27007 percent of its patients for pneumonia, which is an impressive figure. Pneumonia sadly is often a life or death health condition for nursing home patients so we strongly prefer when a facility does not leave its residents vulnerable. Clearly, this facility is doing something right in this area as it also excelled at keeping its residents out of the hospital. Indeed, it had only 0.03 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.

Turning to the category of nursing care, this facility didn't perform quite as well in this area as some of the categories discussed above. Nevertheless, a grade of B- in this category is by no means a bad score. Our nursing rating analyzes several datapoints, but the main one is the number of nurse hours spent with patients. This is generally an indicator that a facility has quality controls in place. Many falls could be avoided if a nursing home provides enough nurses aids to assist its patients.
