Short-term Care Quality
This facility ended up receiving rock bottom scores in our assessment. Perhaps most alarmingly, it received an F for its short-term care grade. In our short-term care rating, we endeavor to forge a fair measure for rehabilitation services. In doing so, we assess the facility's level of highly-skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as speech therapy. Given its poor grade in this category, we weren't shocked to find this place offers significantly fewer registered nurse and physical therapist hours per resident than most facilities. The final metric we looked at in this category is the percentage of patients who were able to leave the nursing home and return to the community. We discovered that just 4.8 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home, which is well below average. The combination of these subpar statistics was damning for this facility's short-term care grade.
Long-term Care Quality
This nursing home wound up receiving a an abysmal grade in our long-term care category. It received a lowly F in this category. For patients seeking a permanent residence rather than rehabilitation, long-term care is an important category. In addition to assessing the quantity of care provided by aids and other staff, we also looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This nursing home gave the vaccine to 100 percent of its residents. Surprisingly, this nursing home also fared well at keeping its residents out of the hospital. Indeed, it had only 0.03 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days. Unfortunately, a few of its other scores in the category were not as favorable as these.

Facility Inspections
We also wanted to point out this place's inspection score where it received a lowly F. When a nursing home has this bad of an inspection score, you should look for severe deficiencies on its inspection report. Severe deficiencies indicate a risk to patient safety. This particular facility was assessed 5 deficiencies by government inspectors. The only favorable thing we can say is that none of the deficiencies were in the categories that suggest that they caused a risk to patient health or safety. Lastly, this facility was flagged by CMS for possible abuse or neglect. We prefer to avoid facilities with this designation. Please do your best to find an alternative nursing home.
Nurse Quality
Turning to the next category, this facility really did not perform very well in this category either. With a poor grade of F in nursing, this is really as as uninspiring as it gets. We analyzed the licensure of nurses at the nursing home, in addition to the quantity of hours those nurses spent with residents, in computing our grade in this category. This place averaged just 0.1 hours of nursing care per resident each day. This is a very low total compared to most nursing homes. Finally, we also looked at a few quality measures in computing our nursing scores. This place was above average in two of the major data points we considered, with solid scores for avoiding major falls and pressure ulcers. These data points are usually reliable indicators of the quality of nursing care provided.
