Facility Inspections
While we graded this facility incredibly poorly overall, it received a fairly respectable inspection report this year. As a result, it received a decent grade in that category with a score of C. Inspection ratings are tied to several datapoints found on the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Deficiencies are an important thing to look for on these reports. Severe deficiencies indicate a threat to the well being of residents. This nursing home was hit with 2 deficiencies on its inspection report, but we were relieved to find that none were category G through L deficiencies. This means that this facility avoided the more significant classes of deficiencies. Finally, CMS cited this nursing home for possible abuse or neglect. Hopefully, its performance improves in the future, but until then we simply can't recommend this facility.
Nurse Quality
One of the other reasons we graded this facility so highly is that it earned a very impressive nursing score. In that area, we awarded this facility an C. The nursing grade weighs a number of datapoints. The most important one is the quantity of hours nurses spend with residents. This nursing home averages just 0.2 hours of nursing care per patient per day, which is well below average. Lastly, our nursing ratings also factor in quality-based measures, such as avoiding major falls. Despite not having the highest total nursing hours per resident, this place performed admirably in the area of preventing major falls. This is often an indicator that a nursing home has quality controls in place. Many falls could be avoided if a nursing home provides enough nurses to assist its residents.

Long-term Care Quality
This nursing home's second worse category was long-term care, where it earned just a D in that category. This is a relatively poor score. Nursing homes that don't fare well in this category typically aren't as well-staffed and are lagging in a few of the areas of routine healthcare services we looked at. Once we assessed the amount of care provided by nurses, we turned to the facility's vaccination statistics. We were a bit bothered by the fact that this facility vaccinated a relatively low 40.657085 percent of its patients against pneumonia. To our surprise, this place was actually decent at keeping its patients out of the hospital. Indeed, it had just 0.03 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days. This was its best feature in this category.
Short-term Care Quality
The final area we looked at was short-term care. This facility was given a rock bottom grade of F in this category. Short-term care grades are based on a nursing home's quantity of skilled highly skilled professionals. This includes a vast spectrum of nursing services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and respiratory therapists, in addition to other types of therapy. With a score this poor in this area, we were not surprised to discover this place was well below average in two of the key staffing figures we assess. It supplied significantly fewer physical therapist and registered nurse hours per patient than most facilities. Finally, we assessed the percentage of patients who were able to return to the community from this nursing home. This wasn't a strength for this facility. We found that just 3.4 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home. At most facilities, about half of their patients are able to return home so this is well below average.
