Facility Inspections
On top of receiving a strong overall score, this facility also received top notch health inspections in recent years. We awarded it one of our higher scores in that area, with an A. Our inspection ratings are tied to several datapoints located in the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Places that score well in this category have very few deficiencies on those reports. Most importantly, these nursing homes generally do not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with risks to patient safety. It doesn't appear that we were able to find information on deficiency's for this nursing home. We would like to have more data for this facility. Without having deficiency related data, it is challenging to grade the place in this category.
Short-term Care Quality
We also awarded this nursing home a score of A- for our short-term care score. Our short-term care scores are based in part on the nursing home's quantity of skilled skilled healthcare professionals. This includes a broad spectrum of nursing services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and occupational therapists, in addition to other types of therapy. One of this nursing home's strengths is registered nurse hours. We found that it offers more care from registered nurses to its residents than most facilities. Finally, we considered the number of residents that were able to return home from this facility. This place fared better than most facilities in the nation with 55.1 percent of its residents returning home.
Nurse Quality
Another strong feature for this facility is that it received an impressive nursing grade. In that area, we awarded this facility a grade of B+. Our nursing category assesses many subcategories, many of which are based on quantities of nurse staffing. This particular nursing home provided 3.8 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also looked at certain nursing quality measures in computing our nursing grades. These include minimizing residents' pressure ulcers and major falls. We look at these statistics as reliable indicators of the quality of nursing care being provided, since better care tends to reduce these problems.
Long-term Care Quality
The last area we rated is long-term care. We awarded this nursing home a solid grade in that category, with a grade of C. While this wasn't as favorable as many of its other grades, it is nevertheless not a terrible score. In the category of long-term care, we focus more on the amount of care offered by a facility, as opposed to more medically-intensive services. Once we assessed the volume of care provided by aids and other staff, we then analyzed the nursing home's vaccination statistics. Unfortunately, this nursing home vaccinated only 70.20408 percent of its residents against pneumonia. The last statistic we assessed is its hospitalization rate. We found that this place had 1.87 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is also slightly below the national average.
