Facility Inspections
Neither this nursing home's overall score nor its category grades gave us much to write home about. This place's best area was inspections, but even there we gave it a D. This is a very poor score. One of the most important factors in evaluating inspection reports is deficiencies. We would scrutinize the severity of the deficiencies. This particular nursing home was hit with 4 deficiencies by CMS. The only positive thing we found is that none of its deficiencies were in the categories that suggest they created a risk to patient safety or health. Finally, we want to draw your attention to the fact that this nursing home received significant government fines recently of more than $100,000. This typically indicates that a poor track record spanned more than one year.
Long-term Care Quality
Unfortunately, this nursing home only received a grade of D for its long-term care rating, which turns out to be one of its higher category grades. Facilities that do not fare well in long-term care typically are not as well-staffed and are lagging in some of the areas of routine healthcare services we looked at. After considering the quantity of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we turned to the facility's vaccination data. We were somewhat surprised to discover that this facility vaccinated just 85.23677 percent of its residents against pneumonia. Surprisingly, this facility was actually able to limit hospitalizations. With only 0.03 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, this nursing home has fewer hospitalizations than many nursing homes. This is its best score in this category.

Nurse Quality
Among this nursing home's several poor grades was its F in the area of nursing care. There are quite a few subcategories included in this category. Most of these criteria relate to staffing levels. This place averaged just 0.3 hours of nursing care per patient daily. This is not a very impressive figure. Lastly, we also assessed some nursing quality-based metrics in calculating our nursing grades. This facility performed well in the area of minimizing its residents' pressure ulcers and major falls.
Short-term Care Quality
Switching gears to our fourth category, this facility didn't fare very well in this category either. With a very poor grade of F in short-term care, this is about as terrible as it gets. Our short-term care grades are critical for individuals needing rehabilitation. Rehabilitation typically requires higher levels of skilled nursing. This includes a vast range of nursing services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and occupational therapists, as well as other variations of therapy. With a grade in this range for this category, we weren't stunned to discover that this facility was below average in the two key staffing figures we focus on. It provided substantially fewer physical therapist and registered nurse hours per patient than most other facilities. Finally, we looked at the percentage of patients who were able to return to the community from this nursing home. This was not a strength for this nursing home. We found that just 3.7 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home. At most nursing homes, about half of their patients are able to return home so this is well below average.
