Long-term Care Quality

Grade: A-plus

In addition to being a first rate nursing home overall, this facility also fared well in our long-term care category, where it earned an A+. Few facilities performed better in this category. When facilities receive this type of score in long-term care it is a good sign for resident care and indicates that the place is well-staffed with nurses aids. In addition to assessing the quantity of care provided by nurses and other staff, we also looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. This nursing home administered the vaccine to 99.78992 percent of its residents. Vaccines are vital to keeping patients healthy. Lastly, this facility was able to limit hospitalizations. In fact, it had only 0.01 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.

Our short-term care grades are arguably more meaningful for patients requiring a nursing home for rehabilitation. Rehabilitation usually utilizes higher levels of highly-skilled nursing. Skilled nursing includes not only nursing services, but also physical and respiratory therapy, as well as other variations of therapy. Fortunately, it looks like this nursing home has registered nurses on staff. Not all nursing homes employs these skilled professionals. However, according to the information this nursing home provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists.
