Facility Inspections

Grade: A-plus

In addition to being a great facility overall, it also earned A+ inspections in recent years. Its inspections were nearly flawless. Our inspection ratings are based on many datapoints located in the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Places that score well in this category have very few deficiencies on their reports. Most importantly, these places should not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with endangerment of patients. This nursing home was assessed 3 deficiencies on its inspection report, but we were relieved to see that none of the deficiencies were considered severe. This indicates that the government inspectors did not consider any of these deficiencies to pose an immediate threat to resident health or safety. A few minor dings are not the end of the world.

Nurse Quality

Grade: B-plus

This facility is also strong in the area of nursing, where it received a grade of B+. It outperformed most nursing homes in this category. Our nursing grade is largely associated with the facility's nurse staffing. This nursing home provides 0 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also looked at some nursing quality measures in determining our nursing grades. This place performed very well when it comes to minimizing its residents' major falls and pressure ulcers. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: B

This nursing home received a strong short-term care score as well. We awarded it one of our higher grades in that category with a grade of B. In calculating these short-term care grades, we look at the nursing home's skilled nursing services, including those performed by registered nurses, speech therapists, physical therapists and other types of therapists. The goal is to formulate a barometer for sizing up the rehabilitation services of different facilities. It doesn't look like this facility submitted information on registered nurse or physical therapist staffing. The last measure we assessed in this category is the number of residents who were able to leave the nursing home and return home. We discovered that 5.3 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: B

The final category we rated was long-term care, in which this nursing home was awarded a B. This facility didn't end up having any weak areas. Nursing homes that do well in long-term care typically are well-staffed and provide extensive hands on care to residents. After assessing the volume of care provided by nurses and other staff, we then looked at the nursing home's vaccination data. This facility vaccinated 100 percent of its residents against pneumonia, which is far higher than the majority of nursing homes. Clearly, this nursing home is doing something right in this area as it also excelled at keeping its patients out of the hospital. Indeed, it had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.
