Although we gave this place a terrible overall score, we awarded it a B for our inspections rating. This is the result of the facility receiving a quality government inspection report this year. Perhaps the most important factor we look at in determining our inspection grades is deficiencies. Deficiencies are found on a facility's inspection reports. It is generally in your best interest to avoid nursing homes that have a long list of deficiencies. This nursing home was hit with 6 deficiencies on its inspection report, but none were considered severe. This means that the inspectors did not consider any of the deficiencies to create an immediate risk to patient health or safety. A few minor deficiencies aren't necessarily the end of the world.

This facility's second most respectable category is long-term care, but it nevertheless earned just a D in that category. This turns out to be a well below average score. Long-term care grades in this range generally are a bad sign for the quantity and quality of care provided by nurses and aids. One of the criteria we considered after nursing hours is vaccines. Frankly, we were a bit alarmed this nursing home provided the pneumonia vaccination to just 83.92857 percent of its patients. To our surprise, this place was actually decent at limiting hospitalizations. While it had 1.73 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, its risk adjusted metric wasn't bad due to it having more complicated patients. This was its best feature in this category

We also wanted to point out that this nursing home received an F for its nursing grade. Nursing grades are based largely on levels of nurse staffing. This nursing home offered just 3.1 hours of nursing care per resident on a daily basis. This is a very low total compared to most nursing homes. To pair with its below average total nursing hours per resident, this nursing home had bad marks in many of the quality-based measures we looked at in computing our nursing grades. We looked at the percentage of residents sustaining falls leading to major injury. This facility was at more than 150 percent of the national average in this statistic. This is concerning in light of the fact that many falls could be avoided with better nursing care. This ended up sealing the nursing home's fate of earning a poor nursing score.

The next area we assessed was short-term care, where this nursing home was given an abysmal score in this area as well. It received a lowly F in this category, which is definitely somewhat alarming. Our short-term care scores are based on the facility's quantity of skilled skilled healthcare professionals. This includes a broad range of nursing services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and occupational therapists, as well as other forms of therapy. In this nursing home's case, we found that it provides less physical therapist and registered nurse hours per resident than the average facility. Lastly, we looked at the number of patients who ultimately were able to return home from this facility. This nursing home didn't fare well here either. In fact, we found that just 41.1 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home.
