Facility Inspections
Although we gave this facility a terrible overall grade, we awarded it a B- for our inspections rating. In fact, the facility received very impressive inspection report this year. Inspection grades are tied to many items located in the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Deficiencies are an important thing to look for on these reports. Severe deficiencies indicate a risk to patient safety. This facility was assessed 7 deficiencies on its inspection report, but we were relieved to see that none were considered to be severe. This tells you that the inspectors didn't consider any of these deficiencies to pose an immediate risk to patient health or safety. Lastly, this nursing home was cited by CMS for possible abuse or neglect. This is generally a really bad sign. We would never recommend this facility.
Short-term Care Quality
We were also stunned to discover that this facility earned a reasonably solid short-term care score this year. We gave it a C in this category. In our short-term care grade, we endeavor to create a meaningful measure for rehabilitation services. In this process, we look at the nursing home's offerings of highly-skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as respiratory therapy. Unfortunately, this nursing home was below average in terms of its level of physical therapy and registered nurse hours provided to its patients based on the measures we assessed. The final metric we assessed in this category is the number of patients who were able to leave the facility and return home. We discovered that just 5.3 percent of this facility's patients were able to return home, which is below average.

Nurse Quality
We were also surprised to find that this facility received a decent nursing grade this year. We gave it a grade of C in that category. There are quite a few criteria included in this area. Many of the subcategories are tied to the quantity of nurse staffing. This facility provides 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident daily. This is a much lower figure than we were hoping for. Lastly, despite not having the most impressive total nursing hours per resident, this facility performed admirably in the metric of preventing major falls. This is typically an indicator that a nursing home has quality controls in place.
Long-term Care Quality
Moving on to our final area, this nursing home didn't perform well in this area either. Due to a very poor grade of F in long-term care, this is just about as terrible as it gets. When facilities receive this kind of grade in long-term care it is typically a bad sign for resident care and it may indicate that the nursing home is not as well-staffed. Once we assessed the amount of care provided by nurses, we turned to the facility's vaccination statistics. Candidly, we were a bit bothered by the fact that this nursing home vaccinated only 83.41014 percent of its patients against pneumonia. Surprisingly, this facility was actually able to limit hospitalizations. With just 0.01 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, this nursing home had less hospitalizations than many nursing homes. This is its best feature in this category.
