Facility Inspections

Grade: A-plus

We also wanted to point out that this nursing home has received near flawless inspections recently. We awarded them an impressive grade of A+ in this category. Arguably the most important factor we look at in calculating our inspection scores is deficiencies. These deficiencies can be found on a facility's recent inspection reports. Places with better grades in this category most likely avoided the more severe deficiencies involving things like patient abuse. This facility received 5 deficiencies on its inspection report, but none of the deficiencies were considered to be severe. This means that CMS didn't consider any of the deficiencies to create an immediate threat to patient safety or health. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: A-plus

This facility also was given an A+ long-term care grade, making it one of the few nursing homes to be awarded multiple A+ category grades. Facilities that receive this kind of grade in this category typically provide consistent around the clock care to make sure patients are well cared for. In addition to considering the quantity of care provided by nurses and other staff, we analyzed the number of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. This nursing home administered the vaccine to 91.02564 percent of its residents. This is somewhat less than we expected but still a decent figure. Clearly, this nursing home is doing something right in this area as it also excelled at keeping its patients out of the hospital. Indeed, it had less than one hospitalization per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: B-minus

The next area we graded was short-term care, where this facility's grade lagged a bit behind as its other scores. In that area, we gave this nursing home a grade of B-, which is still essentially a slightly below average score. Our short-term care ratings are probably most critical for patients in need of rehabilitation from their nursing home. Rehabilitation generally requires higher levels of highly-skilled nursing services. Skilled nursing means not only nursing, but also physical and respiratory therapy, as well as other variations of therapy. Unfortunately, it does not look like this nursing home submitted information about its staffing of registered nurses or physical therapists. The final statistic we considered in this category is the number of patients who were able to return home from the facility. We found that just 0 percent of this facility's patients returned home. This figure was below average.

Nurse Quality

Grade: B-minus

The last category we looked at was nursing. We awarded this facility a decent grade in this area, with a B-. While this wasn't as high as some of its other grades, it is still a middle of the pack score. Our nursing category is based on many factors, many of which are based on nursing hours. This place averages just 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day, which is not an impressive total. Despite having low quantities of nursing care, this facility fared better in some of the quality-based metrics we assessed. In fact, it scored well when it comes to avoiding major falls and pressure ulcers.
