To go along with its decent overall grade, we awarded this nursing home a grade of A- for our inspections rating. This grade is far more impressive than the facility's overall score. Our inspection scores account for a host of factors included in a facility's inspection reports. One of the most important criteria we weigh heavily is the number and severity of deficiencies. Nursing homes with better grades in this category tend to have very few severe deficiencies. This nursing home was assessed 2 deficiencies on its inspection report, but we were relieved to see that none were considered to be severe deficiencies. This tells you that the inspectors didn't consider any of the deficiencies to pose an imminent risk to patient safety or health. A couple minor deficiencies shouldn't lead you to cross a nursing home off your list.

In addition, we also would like to point out that this facility was given impressive short-term care marks this year. We awarded them one of our better scores in that category, with a B. This proved to be the facility's second strongest score. Our short-term care grades are based on the nursing home's quantity of skilled nursing services. This means a vast scope of nursing services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and respiratory therapists, in addition to other forms of therapy. We were not able to track down information on registered nurse or physical therapy staffing for this nursing home. The final statistic we looked at in this area is the number of residents who were able to leave the nursing home and return home. We discovered that 0 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home.

This facility's next best category was its nursing grade, where it received a grade of B-. Nursing grades are based in large part on levels of nurse staffing. This place averages just 0 hours of nursing care per patient per day, which is a very low figure. Finally, our nursing grades also factor in some quality-focused measures. We especially like to look at the percentage of residents who sustained pressure ulcers and major falls. These statistics are indicators of the quality of nursing care, since superior care can reduce these issues.

Historical

Switching gears to our last category, this facility didn't perform well. Due to an abysmal grade of F in long-term care, this was this nursing home's weakest area. For residents seeking a permanent place to live rather than rehabilitation, long-term care is a very important category. Once we looked at the quantity of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we then analyzed the facility's vaccination record. This nursing home vaccinated 96.5368 percent of its patients for pneumonia, which is better than the majority of nursing homes. To our surprise, this nursing home was able to limit hospitalizations. With only 0 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, this nursing home had fewer hospitalizations than many nursing homes. Sadly, some of its other scores in the category weren't as favorable as these.
