Facility Inspections

Grade: A

Although we didn't rate this facility favorably overall, we actually gave it an excellent score in the category of inspections, where it earned an A. We weigh several aspects of a nursing home's inspection report in calculating these inspection scores. One critical factor is health deficiencies. You should keep in mind that the severity of the deficiencies is usually more meaningful than the number of deficiencies, as some are quite insignificant. This particular nursing home received 4 deficiencies on its inspection report. Overall, this is still a solid inspection report, but we'd always recommend looking into any deficiencies you find troubling.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: C

We also awarded this nursing home a middle of the pack score in the category of long-term care, where we awarded it a grade of C. In calculating our long-term care scores, we scrutinize the assistance with daily living received by a nursing home's patients. After considering the volume of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we then looked at the facility's vaccination statistics. This facility vaccinated 97.67442 percent of its patients for pneumonia, which is higher than the average nursing home. This place also excelled at keeping its residents out of the hospital. In fact, it had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.

Nurse Quality

Grade: F

Among this nursing home's several poor grades was its F in the area of nursing care. Our nursing rating features a variety of subcategories. The most important variable is the quantity of hours nurses spent with patients. This place provided just 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident daily. Lastly, we also assessed some nursing quality-based metrics in computing our nursing grades. This nursing home performed well in terms of avoiding major falls and pressure ulcers. Many consider these areas to be indicators of the quality of nursing care.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: F

The next category we assessed was short-term care. This facility was given an abysmal grade of F in that category. Our short-term care ratings are based in part on the nursing home's quantity of skilled nursing services. This includes a wide spectrum of nursing services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and respiratory therapists, not to mention other variations of therapy. Based on its grade in this category, we were not stunned to learn that this place was well below average in terms of the quantity of registered nurse and physical therapy hours provided to its residents based on the figures we assessed. Honestly, this was what we expected to find. Lastly, we assessed the number of patients that who were able to eventually return home from this facility. This facility didn't fare well here either. In fact, we found that just 3.9 percent of this facility's patients were able to return home.
