Facility Inspections
On top of being a strong facility overall, it also earned A+ health inspections recently. Its inspections are virtually perfect. Inspection scores take several factors into consideration, including deficiencies and federal fines. You can find more information about each of these factors by reviewing copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. This nursing home was hit with 4 deficiencies on its inspection report, but we were relieved to see that none were considered to be severe. This indicates that the government inspectors didn't deem any of these deficiencies to create an immediate threat to patient safety or health. Remember that deficiency-free inspections are uncommon in this industry.
Nurse Quality
One of the other reasons we graded this facility so highly is that it earned a very impressive nursing rating. In fact, nursing turned out to be its second best category grade. In that area, we gave this facility a grade of A. In calculating a facility's nursing score, we look at the number of hours nurses are caring for patients and the skill levels of the nurses. This nursing home averages 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also assessed some nursing quality-based metrics in determining our nursing grades. This place performed very well in the area of minimizing its residents' major falls and pressure ulcers. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.

Long-term Care Quality
The third area we analyzed is long-term care. In that area, we awarded this facility a solid grade of B-. Our long-term care grades are based on a facility's quantity of nursing services. This means a vast spectrum of personal care services, ranging from help with activities of daily living to routine medical services. On top of considering the quantity of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we also looked at the number of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. We found that this nursing home provided the vaccine to a relatively low 49.49495 percent of its residents, which is quite a bit lower than we expected. On a more positive note, this facility was able to limit hospitalizations. In fact, it had less than one hospitalization per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.
Short-term Care Quality
The next area we rated is short-term care, where this facility was given a grade of C. This actually was this nursing home's weakest category. This is still not a major area of concern. In forming these short-term care ratings, we quantify the facility's skilled nursing services, such as those performed by registered nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists and other types of therapists. The purpose is to create a tool for sizing up the rehabilitation services of nursing homes. Fortunately, it looks like this nursing home employs registered nurses. Not all facilities employs these types of nurses. On the other hand, according to the information this nursing home provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. The final datapoint we assessed in this category is the number of residents who were able to leave the facility and return to the community. We discovered that just 4.2 percent of this facility's patients were able to return home, which is below average.
