Long-term Care Quality

Grade: B-minus

While we did not have many positive things to say about this nursing home's overall score, it did receive a slightly better long-term care score of B-. This enhanced its profile to a degree. Our long-term care grades are critical for prospective residents needing personal care. After considering the quantity of nursing care, we then analyzed the nursing home's vaccination data. We were pleased to discover that this nursing home vaccinated 99.676895 percent of its patients against pneumonia. Lastly, this facility was also able to limit hospitalizations. It had only 0.03 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: B-minus

This nursing home's second best category came in the area of short-term care. In that category, we awarded this nursing home a B-. Our short-term care grades are based in part on the nursing home's quantity of skilled skilled healthcare professionals. This means a wide scope of services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and respiratory therapists, in addition to other types of therapy. Unfortunately, we found that this place provided fewer physical therapist and registered nurse hours per resident than most other facilities. Lastly, we assessed the number of residents that eventually returned home from this facility. We found that 0 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home. This figure was quite a bit below average.

Nurse Quality

Grade: C

This nursing home actually received a decent grade in the area of nursing as well. We awarded it a grade of C for that category, which is not a bad score. Nursing scores are heavily correlated with levels of nurse staffing. This nursing home averages just 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident on a daily basis, which is not an impressive total. Despite having low quantities of nursing care, this nursing home excelled in some of the quality measures we assessed. It performed well when it comes to avoiding major falls and pressure ulcers.

Facility Inspections

Grade: F

Turning to our final category of inspections, this facility received a grade that's as bad as it gets. We weight this category more heavily than our other categories. When a nursing home has this poor of an inspection grade, you should expect some severe deficiencies on its inspection report. Severe deficiencies indicate a threat to the well being of residents. This particular facility was hit with 4 deficiencies by government inspectors. The only positive thing we found is that none of its deficiencies were in the categories that indicate they caused a risk to resident health or safety. Finally, we also would like to draw your attention to the fact that this facility received significant government fines recently amounting to over $100,000. This usually indicates that a poor performance spanned more than one year.
