Facility Inspections
While we were fairly low on this nursing home overall, we awarded it a grade of A- for our inspections rating. This score is far more impressive than the facility's overall score. We take several aspects of a facility's inspection report into consideration in computing these inspection ratings. One of those factors is health deficiencies. It should be noted that the severity of deficiencies is usually more meaningful than the number of deficiencies, as some deficiencies can be relatively insignificant. Although this nursing home had a few deficiencies on its inspection report, none were major deficiencies based on CMS' scale. A few minor deficiencies are not necessarily the end of the world.
Nurse Quality
One of the other reasons we rated this facility so highly is that it received a very impressive nursing grade. This proved to be its second best category grade. In that area, we gave this facility an B-. Our nursing rating is primarily associated with the nursing home's nurse staffing. This nursing home provides only 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a somewhat alarming figure which is well below average. Lastly, despite not having the most impressive total nursing hours, this place performed admirably in the area of preventing major falls. This is typically a good indicator that a place has sufficient quality controls in place.

Short-term Care Quality
This facility's second lowest score is short-term care, where it received a grade of just D in that category. This is a relatively poor grade. In computing our short-term care ratings, we assess the nursing home's levels of highly skilled nursing, which includes registered nurses, physical therapists respiratory therapists and other highly skilled individuals. This score is frequently a meaningful measure of a nursing home's rehabilitation services. Considering its score in this area, we weren't stunned to find that this place is well below average in terms of the number of physical therapy and registered nurse hours offered to its residents based on the measures we looked at. Frankly, this was what we expected here. Finally, we considered the percentage of patients that returned home from this nursing home. This nursing home didn't fare well here either. In fact, we found that just 4.2 percent of this facility's patients were able to return home.
Long-term Care Quality
The next area we looked at is long-term care, in which this nursing home was given a very poor score in this category also. Unfortunately, we gave it an F in this category, which is definitely somewhat alarming. When nursing homes receive a grade in this range in this category it typically means the nursing home did not perform well in our measures relating to patient care. After considering the volume of care provided by nurses and other staff, we next considered the nursing home's vaccination record. Unfortunately, this nursing home vaccinated only 77.22008 percent of its patients against pneumonia. Surprisingly, this facility was actually able to limit hospitalizations. With only 0.01 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, this nursing home has fewer hospitalizations than many nursing homes. This was its best score in this category.
