Facility Inspections
B-
Historical
Although we were not high on this facility overall, we gave it a B- for inspections. This grade is more respectable than the facility's overall grade. We take several aspects of a facility's inspection report into consideration in calculating our inspection scores. One key factor is deficiencies. You should keep in mind that the severity of the deficiencies is usually more important than the quantity of deficiencies, as some end up being relatively insignificant. Although this facility had a few deficiencies on its report, none of them were serious based on CMS' deficiency scale. Lastly, this nursing home was cited by CMS for possible abuse or neglect. This is generally a really bad sign. We would never recommend this facility.
Nurse Quality
B-
Historical
We also ended up giving this facility a fairly respectable grade in the area of nursing, where it received a grade of B-. The nursing grade analyzes many components, but the most important consideration is the number of nurse hours spent with patients. This place averages just 3.1 hours of nursing care per patient per day, but a significant percentage of those hours were provided by registered nurses. This is one of the most highly skilled levels of nurses. We apply quite a bit of weight to these skilled nursing hours in calculating our nursing grades. Finally, while this facility got docked a bit for its nursing hours, it excelled in some of our quality-based measures. With less than five percent of its residents sustaining pressure ulcers, it performed remarkably well in this area.

The final measure we assessed in this category is the percentage of patients that eventually returned home from the nursing home. We found that just 40.3 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home. Unfortunately, this was below average.
Long-term Care Quality
C
Historical

Thankfully, this nursing home provided the pneumonia vaccination to 98.73016 percent of its residents. This place was able to keep its residents out of the hospital. In fact, it had just 1.55 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days.
