Registered Staff Hours
Nurse Quality
On top of being a quality nursing home overall, this nursing home really excelled in nursing, where it received an A. Few facilities performed better in this area. We looked at the skill-level of nurses working for the facility, as well as the quantity of hours the nurses worked with residents, in calculating our rating in this category. This facility provided 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also assessed several nursing quality-based metrics and this place excelled in some of these areas. With less than five percent of its residents sustaining pressure ulcers, it performed as well as any facility Tennessee in this category. This is generally a good indicator of quality nursing care. Pressure ulcers can many times be prevented by offering better nursing care, such as having a policy of moving a resident more often.
Facility Inspections
Adding to its impressive category grades, we awarded this nursing home a grade of A for our inspections rating. These inspection scores weigh several factors, including deficiencies and substantiated complaints. You can learn more about each of these issues by reviewing copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. This place received 5 deficiencies on its inspection report, but none of the deficiencies were considered to be severe deficiencies. This indicates that CMS did not deem any of the deficiencies to be an immediate risk to patient health or safety. A couple relatively minor deficiencies aren't necessarily the end of the world.

Short-term Care Quality
Turning to our third category, this facility also earned a score of B for its short-term care rating. This is a well above average grade in this category. In our short-term care grade, we endeavor to create a meaningful barometer for rehabilitation services. In doing so, we assess the facility's levels of skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as occupational therapy. Fortunately, it appear that this nursing home has registered nurses on staff. Not every facility employs these types of nurses. On the other hand, based on the data they provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. The final item we considered in this category is the percentage of patients who were able to return home from the facility. We found that 4.1 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home as opposed to remaining at the facility on a permanent basis.
Long-term Care Quality
The next area we looked at is long-term care. This facility was given a better than average long-term care score this year, with a grade of C. Although this wasn't as elite as some of its other scores, this is still an acceptable rating in this area. For long-term care residents, the primary goal is to maintain patients' quality of life and keep them safe. After assessing the volume of care provided by nurses and other staff, we then analyzed the nursing home's vaccination records. This nursing home vaccinated 91.89189 percent of its patients against pneumonia, which happens to be a few points below what we were hoping for but still a decent figure. Nevertheless, this place excelled at keeping its residents out of the hospital. In fact, it had only 0.02 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.
