We also wanted to emphasize the fact that this facility has received near flawless government inspections in recent years. We gave them an impressive grade of A+ in this area. Our inspection ratings are based on many datapoints located in the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Facilities that excel in this category have few deficiencies on those reports. Most importantly, these facilities should not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with endangerment of patients. Nurse Quality
Among its many impressive grades, this facility received an excellent nursing grade. In fact, we gave it a grade of A- in that category. Our nursing rating weighs a handful of factors, however, the paramount consideration is the number of nurse hours spent with patients. This facility provided 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, our nursing grades also factor in quality-based assessments, such as avoiding major falls. This place performed well in this area. Avoiding major falls is typically a good indicator that a nursing home has reliable quality controls in place. Major falls can frequently be prevented if more nurses aids and better safety protocols are in place.
Short-term Care Quality
Turning to the next area, this facility was awarded a very strong short-term care rating. In fact, we awarded it a grade of A- in this area, rounding out a straight A profile. In calculating our short-term care scores, we assess the facility's skilled nursing services, including those performed by registered nurses, respiratory therapists, physical therapists and other types of therapists. Our goal is to create a scale for comparing the rehabilitation services of various facilities. Fortunately, it looks like this facility employs registered nurses. Not every nursing home employs these skilled professionals. On the other hand, according to the data they provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. Finally, we assessed the percentage of patients who were able to return to the community from this facility. We found that 4.9 percent of this facility's residents returned home.
