Facility Inspections
While this nursing home's overall grade was as bad as it gets, it actually didn't perform terribly in the area of inspections. In fact, we awarded it a B- for that category, which is one of our better scores. Inspection ratings weigh a host of factors found on a facility's inspection report. One key criteria we look at is the quantity and severity of deficiencies. This place received 4 deficiencies on its inspection report, but fortunately none were considered to be severe. This tells you that the government inspectors didn't deem any of the deficiencies to pose an immediate risk to patient safety or health. A couple minor deficiencies are not the end of the world.
Short-term Care Quality
We also wanted to draw your attention to this nursing home's low-end short-term care grade where it was given an F. Short-term care scores are critical for patients seeking rehabilitation. Rehabilitation generally mandates additional highly-skilled nursing services. This includes a wide range of nursing services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and speech therapists, as well as other forms of therapy. Based on its score in this area, we were not stunned to find that this facility is well below average in terms of the quantity of physical therapy and registered nurse hours provided to its residents based on the metrics we assessed. Honestly, this was what we expected here. Lastly, we looked at the number of residents who were able to return to the community from this facility. We found that just 4.6 percent of this facility's patients returned home.

Nurse Quality
In addition, we gave this facility an F in the area of nursing care. Our nursing grade is based on numerous datapoints. The most important one is the number of hours nurses spend with patients. With just 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident daily, this facility's nurse staffing levels were well below average. Lastly, we also assessed some nursing quality-based metrics in computing our nursing grades. This facility fared well in terms of avoiding pressure ulcers and major falls. We consider these metrics to be measures of the quality of nursing care.
Long-term Care Quality
Moving on to the fourth area, this facility really didn't fare well here either. With an abysmal grade of F in long-term care, this is about as terrible as it gets. When facilities receive this kind of grade in this category it is often a bad sign for patient care and it may indicate that the place is not as well-staffed with nurses and aids. In addition to assessing the quantity of care provided by aids and other staff, we also looked at the number of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. This facility vaccinated 93.7198 percent of its residents. This is somewhat below what we were hoping for but still a respectable figure. Surprisingly, this place was actually decent at keeping its patients out of the hospital. Indeed, it had only 0.02 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days. This was its best score in this category.
