Facility Inspections
We also wanted to emphasize the fact that this nursing home earned near flawless inspections in recent years. We awarded them an impressive grade of A+ in this category. Our inspection ratings weigh a host of factors included in a nursing home's inspection report. One of the most important criteria we weigh heavily is the quantity and severity of deficiencies. Places with higher grades in this area typically have few severe deficiencies. Fortunately, although this facility had a few minor dings on its report, it had no severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are those found in categories G through L. This means the inspectors didn't consider any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient health or safety. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.
Short-term Care Quality
This exemplary facility also performed remarkably in the category of short-term care, where it received a grade of A+. Only a small group of nursing homes fared better in this area. With our short-term care assessment, we try to create a fair barometer for rehabilitation. In doing so, we analyze the facility's level of skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as speech therapy. Fortunately, it appear that this facility has registered nurses on staff. Not all facilities employs these skilled professionals. On the other hand, according to the data this nursing home provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. Lastly, we considered the percentage of residents that were able to return home from this facility. We found that 6.2 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home.

One of the criteria we considered on top of nursing hours was vaccines. This nursing home provided the pneumonia vaccination to 97.9021 percent of its patients. Vaccination is a great way to avoid unnecessary deaths and hospitalizations for the senior population. Lastly, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. Nurse Quality
The last category we analyzed was nursing, where this facility was given a grade of A-. This rounded out a first-rate profile. Not many nursing homes earned an A- or higher in all four categories. Our nursing grade assesses the nursing home's nurse staffing levels. We weigh both the levels of licensure of the nurses as well as the number of hours spent with residents. This particular nursing home provided 0.5 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Lastly, we also looked at certain nursing quality measures in computing our nursing grades. These include minimizing residents' pressure ulcers and major falls.
