Short-term Care Quality
To go along with its strong overall grade, we gave this nursing home a grade of A for short-term care. In our short-term care assessment, we seek to forge a sound gauge for rehabilitation. In this process, we look at the facility's levels of highly-skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as respiratory therapy. Fortunately, it appear that this facility has registered nurses on staff. Not all nursing homes employs these types of nurses. On the other hand, according to the information this nursing home provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. The last item we considered in this category is the number of patients that ultimately were able to return home from the facility. We found that 6.4 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home as opposed to remaining at the facility on a permanent basis.
Long-term Care Quality
Compounding its strong assessments in other areas, we gave this nursing home a grade of A for its long-term care score. Long-term care grades in this range generally require both around the clock care from nurses and aids, as well as quality routine medical care. This nursing home impressed us in this category.

Facility Inspections
Racking up yet another strong category grade, this facility also excelled in inspections, where it received an A. Few facilities performed better in this category. We take several aspects of a facility's inspection report into consideration in determining our inspection scores. One critical factor is health deficiencies. You should keep in mind that the severity of deficiencies is arguably more important than the quantity of deficiencies, as some are quite insignificant. This place was hit with 4 deficiencies on its inspection report, but none of the deficiencies were considered to be severe deficiencies. This tells you that the government inspectors did not deem any of these deficiencies an imminent threat to patient health or safety. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.
Nurse Quality
Turning to the fourth category, this facility also performed admirably in the nursing category. We gave it an A- for this area. This finalized truly elite profile. When determining a nursing home's nursing rating, we consider the amount of time nurses are seeing residents and the level of licensure of the nurses. This nursing home provides 0.5 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Lastly, we also assessed certain nursing quality measures in computing our nursing grades. These include minimizing residents' pressure ulcers and major falls. We view these areas as good measures of the caliber of nursing care provided, since better care tends to reduce these problems.
