Facility Inspections
To pair with its decent overall grade, we gave this nursing home a grade of A+ for our inspections rating. This is far better than its overall score. Arguably the most significant factor we look at in determining our inspection ratings is deficiencies. These deficiencies can be found on a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Places with better scores in this category most likely dodged the most severe deficiencies involving health risks or even death. While this facility had a few minor dings on its report, it had zero severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are ones labeled as categories G, H, I, J, K and L. This means that CMS did not consider any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient health or safety. A couple of minor deficiencies shouldn't lead you to cross a nursing home off your list.
Long-term Care Quality
Sadly, this facility only earned a D for its long-term care score, which turns out to be one of its better category grades. For residents seeking a permanent residence rather than skilled nursing, long-term care grades are very important. In addition to assessing the volume of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we looked at the number of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. Thankfully, this nursing home administered the vaccine to 100 percent of its residents, which is an above average statistic. To our surprise, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. With just 0.01 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, this facility has fewer hospitalizations than many nursing homes. Sadly, some of its other scores in this category weren't as favorable as these.

Nurse Quality
Turning to another strength for this facility, it also received an elite nursing rating. In fact, we gave this nursing home a grade of D. We scrutinized the levels of nurses employed by the facility, in addition to the quantity of time those nurses were with residents, in determining our rating in this area. This place provided a meager 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident each day. Finally, we also looked at some nursing quality-based metrics in calculating our nursing grades. This place performed well when it comes to avoiding major falls and pressure ulcers.
Short-term Care Quality
This nursing home's least impressive category was short-term care, which is the final category we analyzed. We gave it a lowly F in this area. Despite some respectable scores in other areas, this grade is nevertheless concerning so we felt obligated to point it out. Our short-term care grades are based in part on the nursing home's quantity of highly-skilled highly skilled professionals. This includes a vast scope of services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and speech therapists, as well as other types of therapy. Considering its score in this area, we weren't stunned to find that this place was well below average in terms of the number of physical therapy and registered nurse hours provided to its residents based on the data we assessed. Finally, we considered the number of residents who were able to return to the community from this nursing home. This definitely wasn't a strength for this nursing home. We found that just 4.8 percent of this facility's residents returned home. At most facilities, about half of their residents are able to return home so this is well below average.
