Facility Inspections
While we graded this facility incredibly poorly overall, it received a fairly respectable inspection report this year. As a result, it received a decent grade in that category with a score of B-. Our inspection ratings are tied to several datapoints found on the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Deficiencies are a key item to look for on these reports. Severe deficiencies indicate a risk to the well being of residents. This particular nursing home received 5 deficiencies on its inspection report. Another area of concern is that CMS flagged this nursing home for possible abuse or neglect. This is not what you want to see. We advise you to direct your search elsewhere.
Nurse Quality
Unfortunately, this facility only received a grade of D for its nursing grade, which was actually one of its better category grades. Our nursing rating is primarily based on the facility's level of nurse staffing. This nursing home provides 0.2 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a much lower figure than we are used to seeing. Lastly, we also assessed some nursing quality-based metrics in determining our nursing grades. This facility performed well in terms of minimizing its residents' pressure ulcers and major falls. Many consider these metrics to be indicators of the quality of nursing care.

Long-term Care Quality
We gave this nursing home just a D for our long-term care score. This is not an impressive grade. For long-term care residents, the primary goal is to maintain patients' quality of life and keep them safe. Once we concluded our assessment of the quantity of care provided by nurses, we turned to the facility's vaccination data. We were optimistic to learn that this nursing home vaccinated 100 percent of its residents for pneumonia. Surprisingly, this place also keeps its patients out of the hospital. It had only 0.02 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days. Sadly, a few of its other scores in this category were not as favorable as these.
Short-term Care Quality
The final area we analyzed was short-term care, in which this facility was given a bottom of the barrel grade in this category also. It received a lowly F for this area, which is definitely very concerning. Short-term care scores are based in part on a facility's quantity of highly-skilled skilled healthcare professionals. This includes a broad spectrum of services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and speech therapists, not to mention other forms of therapy. With its score in this area, we weren't surprised to learn that this facility is well below average in terms of the number of physical therapy and registered nurse hours offered to its patients based on the figures we assessed. Lastly, we assessed the number of patients who were able to return to the community from this nursing home. We found that just 3.3 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home.
