Facility Inspections
This facility received a strong overall score as described above, but we especially wanted to point out its excellent inspections in recent years. We gave it an impressive grade of A in this area. These inspection scores take several factors into consideration, including deficiencies and federal fines. You can find more information about each of these items by reviewing copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. This particular nursing home had just a single deficiency on its inspection report and it was not one deemed to pose a threat to patient health or safety. Even some of the best nursing homes receive an occasional ding on their inspection report.
Short-term Care Quality
This facility was awarded high grades in the category of short-term care as well. Indeed, it received one of our most dominant grades in that category with a area of A-. Short-term care ratings are based in part on the nursing home's quantity of highly-skilled highly skilled professionals. This includes a vast spectrum of nursing services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and occupational therapists, in addition to other types of therapy. Fortunately, it appear that this facility employs registered nurses. Not every facility employs these types of nurses. However, based on the information they provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. Lastly, we considered the number of residents who ultimately returned home from this nursing home. We found that 6.4 percent of this facility's residents returned home.

Long-term Care Quality
The third area we assessed was long-term care, where this facility received a C in this area. In a long-term care environment, the nursing home's primary goal is to keep patients healthy and safe. This is different than skilled nursing or short-term care where the goal is to rehabilitate residents. On top of looking at the amount of care provided by nurses and other staff, we also looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. Frankly, we were a bit worried that this facility administered the vaccine to just 86.33093 percent of its residents. Nevertheless, this nursing home excelled at keeping its residents out of the hospital. It had only 0.02 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.
Nurse Quality
The next area we scored was nursing. For this category, we awarded this facility a grade of C. Our nursing rating includes several subcategories, most of which are based on levels of nurse staffing. This nursing home provides 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a much lower figure than we are used to seeing.
