Nurse Quality
We were not able to award this facility any respectable grades. We especially wanted to point out that it received an F for its nursing grade. In determining a nursing home's nursing score, we assess the amount of time nurses commit to patients as well as the level of skill of those nurses. This nursing home provides 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a bit below average. Lastly, we also looked at some nursing quality measures in determining our nursing grades. This facility performed well when it comes to minimizing its residents' major falls and pressure ulcers.
Facility Inspections
We also wanted to draw your attention to this nursing home's inspection rating where it received an F. This generally means we found some red flags on its inspection reports. With nursing homes that received this bad of an inspection grade, we recommend scrutinizing any severe deficiencies on its inspection report. This particular nursing home was hit with a deficiency by CMS. Fortunately, it was not in one of the categories that suggest that it posed a threat to resident health or safety. Finally, we want to draw your attention to the fact that this nursing home received large government fines in recent years of over $100,000. This typically indicates that a facility'spoor performance has been an issue for multiple years.

Long-term Care Quality
The third area we analyzed was long-term care. This nursing home's was given a poor long-term care score where it received an F. Facilities that do not fare well in long-term care often don't provide as much nursing care and also may be struggling in a few of the areas of routine personal care we assessed. After we finished looking at the volume of care provided by nurses, we then analyzed the facility's vaccination records. We were a bit bothered by the fact that this nursing home vaccinated only 78.175896 percent of its patients for pneumonia. To our surprise, this place was actually able to limit hospitalizations. With only 0 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, this facility has fewer hospitalizations than the majority of nursing homes. This was its best score in this category.
Short-term Care Quality
The final area we graded was short-term care, where this facility was given a bottom of the barrel score in this area also. It received an F in this area, which is obviously very concerning. Our short-term care grades are critical for residents needing rehabilitation. Rehabilitation generally utilizes additional skilled nursing services. This means a broad range of nursing services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and speech therapists, as well as other variations of therapy. Not surprisingly, we learned that this nursing home offers substantially less physical therapist and registered nurse hours per resident than the average facility. Lastly, we looked at the percentage of residents who were able to return to the community from this nursing home. We found that just 3.4 percent of this facility's patients returned home.
