Facility Inspections

Grade: B-plus

This facility's best category grade came in the area of health inspections. In this area, we gave this facility a B+. It actually outperformed most facilities in this category. Perhaps the most significant factor we look at in calculating our inspection grades is deficiencies. These deficiencies can be found on a facility's inspection reports. Places with higher grades in this category most likely avoided the more severe deficiencies involving health risks or even death. Amazingly, this was one of the few nursing homes in the country that had no deficiencies whatsoever on its inspection report. This is very impressive. This is really what you like to see in this important metric.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: B

This nursing home also received an impressive grade in our long-term care category. We gave this facility an above average grade of B in that area. Facilities that excel in long-term care tend to provide patients with better supervision and stay on top of routine healthcare services. Once we assessed the volume of care provided by aids and other staff, we then looked at the facility's vaccination record. This nursing home vaccinated 98.32134 percent of its residents against pneumonia, which is far higher than the vast majority of nursing homes. Lastly, this facility was able to limit hospitalizations. Indeed, it had less than one hospitalization per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low number.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: B-minus

The next category we analyzed was short-term care. In that area, we gave this nursing home a grade of B-. Short-term care grades are generally employed to gauge a nursing home's rehabilitation services To offer good rehabilitation services, nursing homes generally must provide better levels of skilled nursing. These types of services include registered nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists and other types of therapists. We were not able to find registered nurse or physical therapy staffing data for this facility. The final item we looked at in this area is the number of patients who were able to leave the nursing home and return to the community. We discovered that just 5.2 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home, which is actually below average.

Nurse Quality

Grade: C

Turning to the fourth area, this facility was awarded a respectable nursing score of C. When calculating our nursing scores, we analyze both staffing levels and the levels of licensure of those nurses. This nursing home averages just 0.5 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a very low figure. Finally, while this facility did not rank highly in terms of nursing hours per resident, it performed better in some of the quality-based metrics we assessed. In terms of the number of its residents experiencing pressure ulcers, this nursing home performed better than average.
