In addition to performing well in its overall grade, this nursing home performed at an even higher level in the area of inspections. In fact, it received a nearly flawless inspection report this year. As a result, it received one of our highest grades in that category with a score of A+. Inspection scores take several factors into consideration, including deficiencies and substantiated complaints. You can learn more about each of these issues by reviewing copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: A-minus

We also awarded this nursing home a score of A- for our long-term care grade. Nursing homes that do well in this category typically provide patients with closer supervision and stay on top of routine medical care. On top of considering the amount of care provided by aids and other staff, we analyzed the number of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. This nursing home gave the vaccine to 95.736435 percent of its residents, which is better than the majority of nursing homes. Lastly, this nursing home was able to limit hospitalizations. Indeed, it had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: B-minus

This facility was awarded its next most favorable category score in the area of short-term care. We awarded this nursing home a B- in this category, which is a reasonably acceptable grade. Short-term care ratings are based on a nursing home's quantity of highly-skilled nursing services. This includes a broad range of services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and speech therapists, in addition to other forms of therapy. We weren't able to track down information on registered nurse or physical therapy staffing for this nursing home. The final statistic we assessed in this category is the percentage of residents that who were able to eventually return home from the facility. We found that just 4.9 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home. Unfortunately, this was below average.

Nurse Quality

Grade: D

This nursing home's least impressive area is nursing, which is the final area we analyzed. In this category, we awarded this nursing home a grade of D. The nursing grade includes many components, but the primary one is the number of nurse hours per patient per week. This place provided only 0.3 hours of nursing care per patient each day. This is an alarmingly low total. Although this place did not excel in the area of nursing hours, it actually surprised us in a few of the quality-based assessments in the nursing category, such as avoiding major falls. This nursing home was better than average in this datapoint, which was one redeeming quality we found in this area.
