The primary reason this facility received a decent overall grade is its impeccable government inspections in recent years. We gave it one of our better grades in that category, with an A+. This is a notably better grade than the place's overall score, which was decent but certainly not elite. Arguably the most critical factor we consider in computing our inspection ratings is deficiencies. These deficiencies are found on a facility's recent inspection reports. Places with better scores in this area most likely avoided the most severe deficiencies involving health risks or even death. This nursing home was hit with 3 deficiencies on its inspection report, but fortunately none were considered to be severe. This indicates that the inspectors didn't consider any of the deficiencies to cause an immediate risk to patient health or safety. A few minor deficiencies shouldn't stop you from considering a nursing home.

In addition, we also wanted to point out that this facility received impressive long-term care marks in this assessment. We gave them one of our more favorable grades in this area, with a B+. This proved to be the nursing home's second strongest grade. When nursing homes receive this kind of score in long-term care it is a good sign for resident care and suggests that the nursing home is well-staffed with nurses aids. One of the criteria we considered after nurse's aid hours was vaccines. This nursing home administered the pneumonia vaccination to 99.53632 percent of its patients. Vaccination is a reliable method to avoid unnecessary deaths and hospitalizations for the senior population. Lastly, this nursing home was able to limit hospitalizations. With only 1 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, this facility has fewer hospitalizations than many nursing homes.

The next highest grade we gave this nursing home in any area came in the category of nursing, where we gave it a grade of C. The nursing score is based on a handful of subcategories, however, the main one is the number of nurse hours per patient per week. This nursing home provided just 3.2 hours of nursing care per patient each day. This is a low total compared to most other nursing homes. Despite having low quantities of nursing care, this place actually fared better in some of the quality-based metrics we looked at. In fact, it performed well when it comes to avoiding major falls and pressure ulcers. We consider these areas to be reliable indicators of the quality of nursing care. In many cases, the quality of nursing care is every bit as important as the quantity of hours of care offered.

The next area we assessed is short-term care. We gave it a lowly F in this category, which is a bottom of the barrel score. This is certainly a major concern. Our short-term care grades are crucial for individuals needing rehabilitation. Rehabilitation generally utilizes more highly-skilled nursing services. Skilled nursing includes a vast spectrum of nursing services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and respiratory therapists, as well as other forms of therapy. Not surprisingly, we found that this nursing home provides far less physical therapist and registered nurse hours per resident than the average facility. Lastly, we looked at the number of patients that were able to return home from this nursing home. This facility didn't fare well here either. In fact, we found that just 30.8 percent of this facility's patients were able to return home.
