Long-term Care Quality
Although we gave this facility a terrible overall grade, we awarded it a grade of C for our long-term care rating. Our long-term care grades are important for patients looking for personal care. On top of considering the amount of care provided by aids and other staff, we looked at the number of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. This facility gave the vaccine to 41.693813 percent of its residents. This is pretty significantly below what we expected. Nevertheless, this place excelled at keeping its patients out of the hospital. In fact, it had only 0.03 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low number.
We also wanted to point out this nursing home's inspection score where it received an F. This generally means we found some red flags on its inspection reports. For nursing homes with bad inspection grades, you should focus on any severe deficiencies found on their recent inspection reports. This particular facility was hit with 4 deficiencies by CMS. The only positive thing we can say is that none of its deficiencies were in the categories that indicate that they caused a threat to patient health or safety. Finally, CMS cited this nursing home for possible abuse or neglect. Hopefully, its performance improves in the future, but until then we simply can't recommend this facility.

Short-term Care Quality
The next area we assessed was short-term care. This nursing home's was given an abysmal short-term care grade where it received a lowly F. Our short-term care grades are based on a nursing home's quantity of highly-skilled highly skilled professionals. This means a wide spectrum of services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and respiratory therapists, in addition to other types of therapy. Considering its score in this category, we were not surprised to find that this place is well below average in terms of the number of registered nurse and physical therapy hours provided to its patients based on the data we assessed. Finally, we looked at the number of residents who were able to return home from this nursing home. This nursing home didn't fare well here either. In fact, we found that just 4.2 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home.
The final category we graded is nursing, where this facility received an abysmal score in this category as well. It received an abysmal F in this area, which is obviously a major concern. Our nursing rating looks at the nursing home's nurse staffing levels. We factor in both the levels of licensure of the nurses as well as the quantity of hours spent with patients. This nursing home provides 0.2 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a much lower figure than we are used to seeing. Finally, we also assessed some nursing quality measures in determining our nursing grades. This facility performed well in terms of minimizing its residents' major falls and pressure ulcers.
