Facility Inspections
While we gave this facility a terrible overall score, we awarded it a grade of B for our inspections rating. This was the result of the nursing home receiving a decent government inspection report this year. Inspection grades are tied to pieces of information located in the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Deficiencies are an important item to look for on these inspections. You should especially avoid facilities that have severe deficiencies associated with endangerment of patients. While this facility had a few minor dings on its inspection report, it had zero severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are labeled as categories G through L. This means the inspectors didn't deem any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient safety or health. A couple minor deficiencies aren't the end of the world.
Nurse Quality
Turning to the area of nursing care, this facility received a grade of just D in this category. Unfortunately, this ended up being one of its better grades. Our nursing grade is largely tied to the nursing home's level of nurse staffing. This nursing home offered only 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident each day. Lastly, we also assessed some nursing quality measures in computing our nursing scores. This place fared well in terms of minimizing its residents' major falls and pressure ulcers.

Long-term Care Quality
This nursing home ended up receiving a a terrible grade in our long-term care category. It received a lowly F in this area. For long-term care residents, the facility's primary objective is to keep patients healthy and safe. This is different than skilled nursing or short-term care where the goal is to rehabilitate patients. After we finished looking at the volume of nursing care, we then looked at the nursing home's vaccination record. We were optimistic to find that this nursing home vaccinates 97.08029 percent of its patients for pneumonia. To our surprise, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. With just 0 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, this nursing home had less hospitalizations than the majority of nursing homes. Sadly, a few of its other scores in this category weren't as favorable as these.
Short-term Care Quality
The next area we looked at is short-term care. This facility was given a bottom of the barrel grade of F in this area. In the area of short-term care, we seek to assess indicators of a nursing home's rehabilitation services. We assess a facility's skilled nursing services, including those performed by registered nurses and various therapists. With its score in this area, we weren't surprised to find that this place was well below average in terms of the quantity of registered nurse and physical therapy hours offered to its residents based on the figures we looked at. Frankly, this was what we expected to find. The final metric we assessed in this category is the percentage of patients who eventually returned home from the nursing home. This nursing home struggled quite a bit in this area as well, with just 4.2 percent of its patients returning home. Unfortunately, this was quite a bit below the national average.
