Long-term Care Quality

Grade: A-plus

In addition to receiving a great overall grade, this facility also received an A+ long-term care grade. When facilities receive this kind of grade in long-term care it is a good sign for resident care and suggests that the facility is well-staffed with nurses aids. After we finished looking at the amount of care provided by nurses, we then analyzed the nursing home's vaccination data. This facility vaccinated 100 percent of its residents against pneumonia, which is what we like to see. Pneumonia sadly can be a life or death health condition for nursing home patients so we prefer when a facility doesn't roll the dice on this issue. Lastly, this nursing home was able to limit hospitalizations. It had only 0.02 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: A

We also wanted to draw your attention to the fact that this nursing home was awarded an elite grade of A in our short-term care area. In our short-term care category, we try to create a valuable measure for rehabilitation services. In this process, we look at a nursing home's offerings of highly-skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as respiratory therapy. Fortunately, it looks like this nursing home employs registered nurses. Not all nursing homes employs these skilled professionals. However, based on the information this nursing home provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. Lastly, we looked at the percentage of residents that ultimately were able to return home from this nursing home. We found that 7.4 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home.

Nurse Quality

Grade: A

Among its many impressive grades, this facility received an excellent nursing grade. In fact, we gave it a grade of A in that category. Our nursing score is primarily based on a facility's level of nurse staffing. This nursing home provides 0.6 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, our nursing grades also factor in quality-based assessments, such as avoiding major falls. This facility performed well in this area. Avoiding major falls is typically a good indicator that a place has reliable quality controls in place. Major falls can often be avoided if more nurses aids and better safety protocols are in place.

Facility Inspections

Grade: A

Wrapping up this nursing home's impressive resume, we gave this facility an A for our inspections rating. With this grade, the nursing home completes its straight A report card. Inspection ratings are based on several data points located in the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Facilities that score well in this category typically have few deficiencies on those reports. Most importantly, these facilities should not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with risks to patient safety. While this facility had some deficiencies on its report, none were serious based on CMS' deficiency scale. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.
