Facility Inspections

Grade: B-plus

We would like to point out that this facility's inspection score exceeded its overall score. This facility earned a B+ in this area, which is a quality score. Our inspection scores account for several factors included in a facility's inspection reports. One key criteria we look at is the number and severity of deficiencies. Places with higher grades in this category generally have very few severe deficiencies. While this nursing home had some deficiencies on its report, none of them were serious based on CMS' deficiency scale. A couple relatively minor deficiencies are not necessarily something to panic about.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: B

Additionally, we awarded this nursing home a B in our long-term care category. This happens to be one of our more favorable scores. When facilities receive a grade in this range in this category it typically means it has plenty of staff and is an overall good place to reside on a permanent basis. Once we looked at the volume of care provided by nurses and other staff, we then analyzed the facility's vaccination statistics. This facility vaccinated 100 percent of its residents for pneumonia, which is far higher than the vast majority of nursing homes. Lastly, this facility was able to limit hospitalizations. In fact, it had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low number.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: B

We also gave this nursing home a favorable score in short-term care. This facility received a B in this area, which is one of our more favorable grades. Short-term care grades are typically used to measure a facility's performance with rehabilitation In order to provide highly scored rehabilitation services, facilities generally need to provide better levels of highly skilled nursing services. These types of services include registered nurses, physical therapists, respiratory therapists and other highly skilled individuals. Unfortunately, it does not look like this nursing home provided information about its staffing of registered nurses or physical therapists. Lastly, we assessed the percentage of patients that were able to return home from this nursing home. We found that 5.6 percent of this nursing home's patients were able to return home.
