Registered Staff Hours
Nurse Quality
Although we gave this facility a terrible overall grade, we gave it a B- for our nursing category. We scrutinized the levels of nurses employed by the facility, in addition to the number of hours those nurses spent with patients, in computing our grade in this area. This place provides only 0.4 hours of nursing care per patient daily. This is a somewhat alarming figure which is well below the national average. Despite having low quantities of nursing care, this facility surprisingly fared better in some of the quality-based metrics we assessed. In fact, it performed well in terms of avoiding major falls and pressure ulcers.
Short-term Care Quality
Turning to the area of short-term care, this nursing home was given just a D in this area. Sadly, this proved to be its second best grade. In the category of short-term care, we strive to assess measures of a facility's rehabilitation. We look at a nursing home's skilled nursing services, such as those performed by registered nurses and physical therapists. As you might expect, we learned that this place provides substantially less registered nurse and physical therapist hours per resident than the typical facility. The final metric we considered in this area is the percentage of patients that were able to return home from the nursing home. This facility struggled quite a bit in this area as well, with just 0 percent of its patients returning home.

Long-term Care Quality
Sadly, this nursing home only received a D for its long-term care grade, which is well below average in this category. For prospective residents seeking a permanent residence as opposed to skilled nursing, long-term care is a very important category. After considering the quantity of nursing care, we then looked at the facility's vaccination record. We were optimistic to find that this nursing home vaccinates 95.08197 percent of its residents against pneumonia. To our surprise, this facility was able to keep its patients out of the hospital. Indeed, it had only 0.01 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days. Sadly, a few of its other scores in the category weren't as favorable as these.
Facility Inspections
In our last area of inspections, this facility received an F in this area. With facilities that received this bad of an inspection rating, we recommend scrutinizing the severe deficiencies on its inspection report. This nursing home was assessed 7 deficiencies by government inspectors. The only positive thing we can say is that none of the deficiencies were in the categories that indicate they created a risk to resident health or safety. Finally, CMS cited this nursing home for possible abuse or neglect. Hopefully, its performance improves in the future, but until then we simply can't recommend this facility.
